Shuttle/Taxi

You can arrange to have a shuttle or taxi pick you up at the airport or hotel and take you directly to Santa Teresa. Shared ($50 pp.) and Private shuttles ($120) are available.

Domestic Flight

Sansa Regional has daily flights from San Jose to Tambor. The flights take about 30 minutes, and from there a 35 minute drive brings you to Santa Teresa. ($100 pp)

Rental Car

Alamo and Budget, have offices in Santa Teresa/Malpais. This is useful if you’d like a one-way rental. From the airport to Santa Teresa it takes around 5 hours. ($50 and up per day)

Direct Bus from San Jose

A direct bus leaves twice a day from Downtown San Jose and brings you to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa.
